Gas Detection Awareness

Atmospheric conditions in the field can be deadly, which makes the effective detection and identification of related hazards a critical task. This course provides an overview of gas detection and focuses on the importance of the processes, techniques and devices used. It is designed for individuals working in field environments where hazardous atmospheric conditions may arise.

Topics Covered

• The importance of atmospheric testing
• Testing checklist and testing in specific conditions
• Personal gas monitors: types, usage and maintenance

• Upon successful completion of this course, a certificate that is valid for three years will be available to print
• Passing grade on exam 70%
• Participants are given five attempts at the final exam. It is strongly recommended to review all course material between attempts. If all attempts are unsuccessful, re-registration into the course is required. Fees will apply
• Students have access to the course for 90 days from initial registration. If not completed within that time, registration fees will not be reimbursed. See Cancellation Policy
