Communities of Practice

Communities of Practice (COPs) facilitate practical, peer-based learning across regulatory, technical, and operational topics. 

These are online sessions where you can trade ideas, hear from guest speakers, and learn what others are doing on the job. 

Insights gathered through committees and COPs help inform ESC’s operational planning and resource development.

Energy Safety Canada's Safety Standards Council represents approximately 70% of activity in Canada's oil and gas industry across all sectors and company sizes.  The Safety Standards Council sets and promotes standards that save lives, prevent serious incidents, and brings consistency to safety across the industry.

DACC – Drilling & Completions Committee


ESC acts as the secretariat for DACC, which develops Industry Recommended Practices (IRPs). These practices set the bar for safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible drilling and completions operations.Learn more about DACC and IRPS
