Summary

This guideline provides direction for developing a program for the selection, use and care of flame resistant workwear (FRW). FRW helps protect workers from thermal hazards such as hydrocarbon flash fires, arc flashes and other high-heat exposures. The guideline supports organizations in selecting and maintaining workwear that provides appropriate protection for their operations. Organizations must determine the level of protection required for their specific hazards and work environments.

This guideline incorporates information from the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers (CAPP) Selection, Use and Care of Flame Resistant Workwear Guideline.
