Summary

Effective July 1, 2025, all transportation carriers and operators require a National Safety Code (NSC) number or its equivalent on all trucks operating on Manitoba’s roads and highways.

The requirement is specified in clause 9(1) (b) of the Regulated Vehicles (Safety Fitness, Operator Identification and Records and Vehicle Exemptions) Regulation.

All carriers and operators, including out-of-province companies. Out-of-province carriers must mark their vehicles with their NSC or equivalent number issued in their jurisdiction (e.g., CVOR or NIR).
