This document is intended to maximize the impact of site specific orientations by bringing alignment to industry procedures. Effective site specific orientations will help prevent injury and illness to workers in the upstream oil and gas industry.
The purpose of this document is to provide small, medium, and large companies, including oil and gas companies and contracting companies, with guidance on what they need to cover in their site specific orientations. A sample template for site specific orientations is also provided in the document appendices.
This document addresses site specific orientation only. Other related topics such as general safety orientation, prime contractor or company onboarding are intentionally excluded. It is also not intended to address the requirements of site hazard assessments.
